Hi Guest,

Curious about the new functionalities in BIMcollab Cloud? If you haven’t noticed, since October 15th there are new exciting features available in the web platform of BIMcollab Cloud, all dedicated to improving your Issues workflow! Therefore, in this edition of the BIMcollab Tech Tip, we will not only review these new functionalities, we have also included some tips while working in BIMcollab ZOOM. And finally, another great news: Smart Properties, now available for Mac users!

NEW: Keep track of issues that aren’t assigned to you
While working on a BIM project, it doesn’t really matter what role you perform; manager, coordinator, designer, or modeler. It is probable that in order to solve your own issues, you will need to keep up with the latest updates from issues that aren't directly assigned to you. With our follow feature, you can now choose any issues from the project that you would like to follow and get email notifications for every change made independently of whom it is assigned to.
TIP: Identity which issues you are following by looking at the bell icon on the issue's preview.

Take advantage of filters to deal with issues in ZOOM

No matter the size or complexity of the project, everyone who has done a clash detection is aware that there will probably be more issues than you would expect. For those cases, filters will help to optimize your issues review process in BIMcollab ZOOM and BCF Managers. The filters feature can easily be enabled for both tools by establishing a connection with a BIMcollab Cloud project. Sort, and reorganize your issues based on their specific properties to have a clear overview of all of them. Another advantage of working online rather than in local mode!

Smart Properties, now available for Mac users!
One of our beloved functions, Smart Properties, is now available for Mac users in the new version of BIMcollab ZOOM (6.2). Let us remind you of their benefits:

Did you know that the Stamp tool gives access to your personalized Smart Properties sets? By mapping values from different properties to produce new unique ones, and after specifying them under the stamp tools settings, makes it possible to create a new custom annotation for your issues and presentation really quick!
TIP: Create a great number of Smart Properties quickly by importing rules with CSV files.

NEW: Save time when creating new BIMcollab projects with project templates
Project templates are available since the October 15th release for BIMcollab Cloud. This functionality allows the creation of new BIMcollab projects according to preset settings. Administrators can directly create project templates that take into account predetermined parameters, such as; project information, team members, groups, labels, and priorities among others.

The defined templates can then be used to create new projects by either project leaders or any user with the necessary permissions. Administrators have also the option to enforce the use of project templates, so all new projects must adhere to these standards. No more messy settings in your BIMcollab projects!
