Hi Guest,
Did you know that administrative statistics are now available via the Power BI integration for easy data visualization? Or did you know that you can choose which components to save in an issue viewpoint? Read more about these topics (and others) in this edition of the BIMcollab Tech Tip. Enjoy!

Model coordination with Archicad files
BIMcollab ZOOM can merge IFC files from a wide variety of applications. If you are using Archicad to create the architectural models for the project, there are some things to consider to make coordination with other disciplines as smooth as possible. For example, which point is used as the origin of an IFC file? Or how is the viewpoint camera positioned when creating an issue? To get you started, we have listed some recommendations for you to consider when using Archicad in a BIM project.

Administrative statistics in Power BI
| |
Space statistics - which are a part of the Enterprise plan - provide an insight in the number of projects per division and department, as well as the number of users per project and their role. These statistics are now available via the Power BI integration for Enterprise plans, so the data can be visualized easily and you can keep track of how resources are distributed across the company.

Choose which components are saved in a viewpoint
By default, the BCF Managers and BIMcollab ZOOM use the active view in the 3D window of your application to store information in an issue viewpoint. When the issue is saved, a list of IFC GUIDS of visible, selected and colored components is also saved in the viewpoint information. Save only the elements necessary to understand the issue. Use these tips to choose your setting while saving the issue:
- Visible components: Use this option when only a limited number of elements are visible in the 3D view and the view needs to be recreated exactly when opening the issue.
- Selected components: This option can be used when the selected components are sufficient to understand the issue. Only the selected components will be visible when zooming back to the issue viewpoint.
- None = shows whole model: No specific components are saved. Choose this option when the whole model needs to be shown in the issue viewpoint. Selected or colored components can still be saved separately in the component list of the issue.

Different roles in a BIMcollab project
| |
In a project, everybody has their own responsibilities and rights. Is a team member allowed to create issues and issue reports? Can they edit the project’s settings and add other team members? Or are they only allowed to view issues? Based on these rights, a team member in a BIMcollab project can be assigned a role.

If you're currently paying per month, this might be the right timing to switch to a yearly payment (before May 1st) as it will save you money.
Considering the purchase of a BIMcollab Cloud plan or ZOOM license? Take advantage of the old price by purchasing before May 1st.
