Hi Guest,

With the latest release of BIMcollab Cloud, it is now possible for project leaders and administrators to delete issues. Learn how to, in this edition of the BIMcollab Tech Tip. Other topics that will be covered are: how to filter your 3D view based on any property in BIMcollab ZOOM, how to change the location of your ZOOM project folder and many more.

Delete issues from a project

Since the latest release of BIMcollab Cloud, it is possible for project leaders or administrators to delete issues. It might occur that issues were duplicated or created by mistake. To prevent these issues from cluttering the history of the project, space administrators can now give users the right to delete issues in BIMcollab Cloud. Be aware that when an issue is deleted, the history of that issue is deleted from the project as well.

For a full list of improvements of the latest BIMcollab Cloud release, consult the release notes.

Quickly filter your ZOOM 3D view based on property

BIMcollab ZOOM offers some handy commands to quickly and easily filter the 3D view based on a property of a selected element. Simply select an element and right click on one of its properties in the properties view. You will find 3 options to filter the 3D view:
  • Show similar: shows any component in the loaded models which has the same value for the selected property
  • Filter similar: filters the current view to only show the components with the same value for the selected property
  • Hide similar: hides all components with the same property value from the current view

Change the location of the ZOOM project folder

As a BIM project is always in motion, its setup might change over the course of the project. This can also affect the chosen location of the projects’ IFC files which are shared between all team members. If you use the project folder functionality to make these models available in BIMcollab ZOOM, the project location path will have to be adjusted to reflect the new location. To avoid that information saved in BIMcollab ZOOM, like model prefixes, is lost in the process of moving the project folder location, we have made some recommendations to make the change without any hiccups.

BIMcollab ZOOM and Windows 11
Microsoft released Windows 11 at the end of 2021. Since then, some of our users have noticed some incompatibilities of the new operating system with BIMcollab ZOOM. We are working hard to make BIMcollab ZOOM fully compatible with the latest version, but we recommend to proceed with caution when upgrading your operating system.
